Tell us about yourself
I grew up in Woodland Hills, California (a suburb of Los Angeles). I moved to Des Moines with my Wife who is attending DMU College of Osteopathic Medicine. My goals in life are to have a happy family, a successful career, and to do good for others.
What are some of your notable achievements?
I survived law school, I passed two bar exams, and now I can say that I’ve been one of PCBA’s spotlighted members
Why did you choose to practice law?
I wanted to make a positive impact in my community as well as society at large. Plus, I love learning and problem solving.
What do you do to get away from work?
Spending time with my wife and our friends, yoga, indoor rock climbing, playing cards and games, riding on the bike trails, and watching tv.
Best place to visit in Polk County
This is a difficult one because there are so many great places… somewhere I’ve only visited once but was really impressed by is the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a feature film producer who made movies with impactful messages. That faded in high school when I realized that there are other, more meaningful ways that I could satisfy my underlying motivations.
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor and why?
I’ve been lucky to have amazing mentors in my life. If I was able to pick anyone, I’d pick Warren Buffet because of his success and philanthropy.
What is your favorite book?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
What songs would you include on the soundtrack to your life?
There are too many! Here are a few: Stay Alive by Jose González, Still Young by The Cat Empire, Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, Revolution by The Beatles, and many more.
Words to live by?
Be kind and show respect to everyone. Pay attention and think for yourself.
