August/September 2011 President’s Message

Late summer/early fall is the time when PCBA committees are formed. Please click here for a brief description of each committee’s function. If you would like more information, please contact Carol Burdette, the committee chairperson, or me.  We now have chairpersons in place for most of our committees. If you might be interested in joining or chairing a committee, or know someone who might serve capably if asked, let us know.

Your PCBA is considering forming a new committee focused on marketing and social media. We have a strong sense that Polk County attorneys would benefit from an opportunity to share information and exchange ideas relating to the use of this technology.  If you would like to get in on the ground floor of this committee and help shape its mission, we’d love to hear from you.

Do you have ideas that would help us strengthen our ties to small firm, in-house, and government lawyers in Polk County?  How can we be more helpful to them?  What should we do to increase their participation in the PCBA?  Should we have committees dedicated to these practice areas, offer more CLE hours, add links to articles of interest?  What do you think?
