The 2023 Law Day celebration was held on May 1 at the Judicial Branch building in Des Moines. This year’s theme was Cornerstones of Democracy – Civics, Civility, and Collaboration Students around the metro area submitted entries interpreting this theme through poetry, essays, posters, visual arts, performing arts, technology, and coloring. The competition was open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The students, teachers, and parents were provided tours of the Judicial Branch building following the ceremony.
