2024 Law Day Materials for Grades 6 - 8

Grades 6-8 Entry Form, Release and Certificate of Authenticity

Subject specific information can be found below.

 

  • Visual Arts entries (group projects allowed, but prize would be shared)

    • A title and short description of how the entry relates to the theme.
    • Visual Arts may be submitted in the form of any original two or three-dimensional medium, including painting, sculpture, graphic design and photography.
    • Photo or a short video of the entry must be emailed lawday@pcbaonline.org for judging.
    • Winners will have arrangements made for pick up or drop off of their submission

 

  • Poetry entries (individual project only)

    • May be in the form of any traditionally recognized form: epic, blank verse, sonnets, haiku, etc.
    • Consider use of figurative language, imagery, pun, oxymoron, and personification.
    • One-page limit.
    • Must email submission to lawday@pcbaonline.org for judging

 

  • Music and Performing Arts (group projects allowed, but prize would be shared)

    • In the form of:
      1. An original musical composition (lyrics must be original, but precomposed melodies and background music are permissible) recorded in the following playable formats: YouTube or Windows Media Player. YouTube is preferred; OR
      2. An original video production, such as a documentary or original drama recorded in the following formats: YouTube or Windows Media Player. YouTube is preferred.
    • Student entries may be shorter than 3 minutes in length, but should not be longer than 3 minutes.
    • All video and audio entries must be submitted via a link such as YouTube or reviewable with Windows Media Player to lawday@pcbaonline.org.

 

  • Essay entries (individual project only)

    • All essays should be between 200 and 500 words and either typed or hand written with standard formatting.

    • Must be emailed lawday@pcbaonline.org to be judged

 

  • Technology entries (group projects allowed, but prize would be shared)

    • A title, and Short description of how the entry relates to the theme.
    • Student entries may be shorter than 5 minutes in length, but should not be longer than 5 minutes.
    • Any video and audio entries must be submitted and playable on YouTube or Windows Media Player.  This also includes a platform to view any informational or game apps created.
    • All entries must be submitted by email to lawday@pcbaonline.org.
