Polk County Court Administration will soon have Polk County jury verdict information fully updated and available for those who request it.
The program to provide this information was initiated over ten years ago by District Five's former Chief Judge, who received repeated requests from attorneys to publish the list of information.
The program was axed by budget cutbacks in 2002, so information is currently available, but it is simply not current.
Data reported for verdict information includes the following:
(1) Date of trial
(2) Type of accident
(3) Type of injury
(4) Sex and age of plaintiff
(5) Special damages
(6) Last demand before trial
(7)
Last offer before trial
(8) Jury verdict and percentage of comparative fault
Court Administration officials expect the information to be fully updated by fall of 2006. To receive a copy of the jury verdict report, send an email request to diane.cox@jb.state.ia.us.
